STATEMENT OF FAITH

THE HOLY BIBLE

The Holy Bible, both Old and New Testament, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. In its original writing, it is inspired, infallible and inerrant.

(II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26).

ONE TRUE GOD

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existing "I AM", the Creator of the Universe and the Redeemer of mankind. God is triune, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and co-eternal.

( Isa 48:16, Matt 28:10, Luke 3:22, I John 5:7; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11 ).

JESUS CHRIST

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and as such, shares in the Divinity and Deity of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind, and thus atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. According to the Scriptures, he rose from the dead on the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.

(John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; 1Timothy 2:5).

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and Son. The primary ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also convicts unbelievers of their need for Christ and imparts spiritual life through regeneration. The Spirit indwells, sanctifies, leads, illumines, and graciously empowers for godly living and service all who come to faith in Christ. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit, in whom also we are sealed for the day of redemption. After conversion, the Spirit desires to fill, empower, and anoint believers for ministry and witness.

(Matthew 3:11; John 1:12-13; 3:1-15; 15:26-27; 16:7-15; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18).

The gifts are given to confirm the power of the gospel and is useful for effective ministry. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts are to be eagerly desired, faithfully developed, and lovingly exercised according to biblical guidelines.

(Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11, 12 :4-8; Ephesians 4:16; I Timothy 4:14; II Timothy 1:6-7; I Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; I Peter 4:10).

FALL AND SALVATION OF MAN

Man was created good and upright, However by voluntary transgression fell. Man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of sin which is death physically and spiritually; As a result all human beings inherit a sinful nature.

After man fell in the garden, man’s only hope of redemption and salvation from the power of sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12; Rom 5:8-13; 10:9; Jas 1:21; Eph 2:8)

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.

(Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22).

WATER BAPTISM

The ordinance of baptism by total immersion in water is commanded in the scriptures. All who repent of their sins and believe in Christ as Savior and Lord are to be so baptized. This is a declaration to the world that they identify with Christ in his death and have been raised with Him in newness of life. (Matt 28:19; Mk 16:16; Acts 10:47; 48; Rom 6:4)

HOLY COMMUNION

The Lord’s supper consisting of the elements – Bread and the cup of the fruit of the vine – this is a symbol of expressing of sharing the Divine Nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2Peter 1:4); a memorial of His suffering and death (1 Cor 11:26); and a prophecy of His second coming (1 Cor 11:26) and is enjoined on all believers till He comes.

MARRIAGE

We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by God. (Matthew 19:4-6).

SANCTIFICATION

Sanctification is the ongoing process of yielding to God’s Word and His Spirit in order to complete the development of Christ's character in us. It is through the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God that the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.

(I Thessalonians 4:3, 5:23; II Corinthians 3:18, 6:14-18, II Thessalonians 2:1-3, Romans 8:29, 12:1-2, Hebrews 2:11).

THE CHURCH

The Church is the Body of Christ, the Habitation of God through the Holy Spirit with Divine appointment for the fulfillment of her great commission. Each believer born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly and the Church of the firstborn which was written in heaven

(Eph 1:22; 2:22; Heb 12:23).

The church is established:

a) To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world (Act 1:8; Matt 28:19; Mk 16:16 &16).

b) To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (1 Cor 12:13).

c) To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a Body of saints being perfected in the image of his Son (Eph 4:11 – 16; 1 Cor 12:28; 14:12).

DIVINE HEALING AND MIRACLES

Divine healing was provided for the Old Testament (Ex 15:23-26; Ps 103: 1-3 Isa 52:4,5) and is an integral part of the Gospel. Miracles are supernatural interventions and present in this day. They are manifested in miracles, signs and wonders. (Matt 8:16,17; Act 5:16; Jas 5:14-16).

ETERNITY

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. John 17:24; II Corinthians 5:1; Hebrews 11:16; I Peter 1:4). (Matthew 25:41; Mark 9:43-48; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 14:9-11, 20:12-15, 21:8).

SECOND COMING

We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to establish His authority on earth. This will be followed by the millennial reign. This reign will bring the salvation of national Israel (Ezek 39:28,29; Zeph 3:19, 20; Rom 11:26, 27) and the establishment of universal peace (Is 11:6-9; Ps 72:3-8; Mic 4:3,4) (Zech 14:5; Matt 24:27-30; Rev 1:7; 19:11-14; 20:1-6) (1 Thes 4:16,17).
